I didn’t know I needed this Minty Blood Orange Margarita in my life until today. This is 100% the best margarita I have ever had in my life! The mint paired with the blood orange is absolutely out of this world. The perfect cocktail to accompany this beautiful spring weather. You can bet you’ll find this cocktail recipe on repeat in my kitchen all summer long!
Someone once asked me the other day what my favorite cocktail was. While I pondered for maybe two seconds, I quickly blurted out a margarita, DUH! They’re such a classic and truthfully, I’m never not in the mood for a good marg. While I’ll always love a classic, there’s nothing wrong with getting a little experimental with different ingredients.
How to make a Minty Blood Orange Margarita
Now if you’ve never tried a blood orange, you are seriously missing out on life! They’re slightly sweeter than a regular orange but with a pleasant bitterness. Not to mention the vibrant color they have to offer is just so aesthetically beautiful on just about anything.
Lime juice! Always fresh, just trust me on this. I use about 3 limes small limes for 2 cocktails. If you’re making for a crowd, I highly recommend juicing a bunch of limes ahead of time. This will make it super convenient for when you go for that second refill. Plus, if you have any leftover lime juice then you can just store in an airtight jar in the fridge.
Mint leaves. ‘Tis the season for fresh herbs! Mint is one of those herbs that I always love to have on deck this time of year. The possibilities are endless on ways to incorporate it in your cooking. Stay tuned for more mint recipes!
Agave and silver Tequila. Of course, because we’re making a margarita!
This recipe is week four of my Margarita Monday series! The best thing about Margarita Monday is it precedes Taco Tuesday! What a way to start the work week.
